Volunteer Tour Guides "Wakasa Storytellers"

Since ancient times, this region has been known as a "food-producing province," supplying the imperial court with salt and seafood. It boasts an abundance of delicious fish and shellfish, such as Wakasa flounder and Wakasa pufferfish.

Home to numerous cultural assets, including the National Treasure Myotsuji Temple, and preserved old townscapes like Sancho-machi, it is often called "Nara by the Sea." It is a town that brings "peace" and "healing" to both residents and tourists, a place "good to live in and good to visit."

A Wakasa storyteller will guide you through this charming town of Obama.
