Find information on subsidies and other financial support offered to bring international visitors to Fukui Prefecture.

Fukui offers some of the most generous financial support in Japan to help you put together conventions, incentive travel (company trips, etc.) or Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) in the prefecture. You could get up to 13,800,000 JPY!

With our Special Subsidy for International Conventions, available for groups of 10 or more participants from overseas, you could get approximately 10,000 JPY per participant per night. The more participants you have, and the longer the event, the higher the subsidy.

An association of licensed English and Chinese interpreter-guides working in Fukui.

Known for its strong community ties, excellent living environment, and outstanding record in both academic ability and physical fitness among children, Fukui is often ranked as one of the happiest places to live in Japan.

The prefecture is also home to world-renowned research resources, such as the world’s longest varved sediment layers—nicknamed the “global yardstick of time”—and authentic dinosaur fossils showcased at one of the world’s top three dinosaur museums. To meet the diverse needs of schools, Fukui offers a wide range of hands-on learning programs that nurture children’s growth in both mind and body. These include experiences in nature, food, history, culture, and local industries—providing opportunities for students to gain valuable insights and develop a deeper sense of humanity.

Situated in Wakasa, Fukui Prefecture, almost in the middle of Japan, Wanpaku Crew supports programs for learning about nature for elementary and middle school students.

*Large fixed-net fishing workshops are not offered anymore.

However, fish landing observation is offered.
