Wakasa Mikata-Goko Two-Day March

Let's walk through Wakasa

Discover the nature and history woven by waters of five shades of blue

The town of Wakasa is located in southern Fukui Prefecture,
close to Shiga and Kyoto, and has long supported the food culture of the old capital.

Here, you'll find the Wakasa Bay, the Five Lakes of Mikata, Uriwari no Taki Falls, and
these five distinct water resources—saltwater, brackish water, freshwater, spring water, and flowing water—
which have nurtured its rich natural environment and history.

The Wakasa Mikata-Goko Two-Day March offers scenic walking courses through the mystical Five Lakes of Mikata

and the Japan Heritage site of the Kumagawa-juku Historic Post Town on the Mackerel Road, or "Saba Kaido."
After your walk, come and enjoy the local cuisine, including fresh seafood caught in Wakasa Bay.
