Kawasa Yoshiharu
Wakasa Obama, the closest port town to Kyoto on the Sea of Japan, was once a "Miketsu-kuni" (Imperial Food-Supplying Province) responsible for presenting seafood to the Imperial Court. It supported Kyoto's food culture through the "Saba Highway."
Seafood landed in Wakasa and salted once is still prized as "Wakasa-mono" in many traditional restaurants.
Nestled in Anō, a fishing village rich in nature surrounded by calm inland seas and mountains within Obama City, we have fully renovated a former local landmark inn and reopened it as "Wakasa Kaji."
"Kajitsu" means a good day. We sincerely hope your stay here at "Wakasa Kajitsu" will be a good day for you.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming you.
