The Fukui Sakura Marathon is a 42.195-km marathon held under the concept of "a pointy full marathon that Fukui can be proud of," "the last but newest full marathon in all prefectures," and "a full marathon to run, see, support, and connect.


Attractions of the Fukui Sakura Marathon

(1) Start/Finish in front of Fukui Station

The start/finish point of the Fukui Sakura Marathon is about a 7-minute walk from Fukui Station. The course has a central start/finish, which is rare in Japan.
The Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train and other public transportation will provide smooth access to the venue.
Please enjoy shopping and dining around Fukui Station before and after the race!

(2) Cherry blossom viewing spots

The course of the Fukui Sakura Marathon is dotted with famous cherry blossom viewing spots and landmarks such as Sakura-dori, Shin-Kuzuryu Bridge, Maruoka Castle, Fox River, 9.98 Stadium, and Ashiba River.

Please experience the unique scenery of Fukui!

(3) Easy-to-run dinosaur-shaped course

The course of the Fukui Sakura Marathon has fewer ups and downs than those of other marathons, with a height difference of 15m (highest elevation: 21m, lowest elevation: 6m), making it suitable for everyone from beginners to serious runners.
In addition, the track of the course is in the shape of Fukui's pride, "Dinosaur," and smartwatch users can enjoy a drawing run with the application!

(4) Time limit: 7 hours

The Fukui Sakura Marathon has a time limit of 7 hours, which is friendly to those who are challenging a full marathon for the first time!
Anyone can aim to finish the marathon by training at their own pace, for example, running 1km in 10 minutes.

5) Sakura Aid

In the Fukui Sakura Marathon, "Sakura Aid" aid stations will be set up to provide runners with Fukui's "local food".
Please come and enjoy the taste of Fukui as you aim to finish the marathon!

6) Local hospitality

In the Fukui Sakura Marathon, "cheering stages" and "cheering spots" will be set up along the course to encourage runners to finish the race with a variety of performances and warm cheering from local residents.
In addition, approximately 6,000 staff members, including volunteers, will warmly welcome runners along the course and at aid stations!
