Fukui Sakura Marathon

With all my heart, the cherry blossoms bloom

The Fukui Sakura Marathon is a 42.195-kilometer race held under the concept of being “a unique event originating in Fukui that we can be proud of nationwide” and “the nation’s last-to-start but newest, next-generation event.”

The Appeal of the Fukui Sakura Marathon

① Start/Finish in Front of Fukui Station

The start and finish lines of the Fukui Sakura Marathon are about a 7-minute walk from Fukui Station. This is a central start/finish course, which is rare even nationwide. You can easily access
the venue using public transportation such as the Hokuriku Shinkansen. Be sure to enjoy shopping and dining around Fukui Station before and after the race!

② Famous Cherry Blossom Spots

The Fukui Sakura Marathon course is dotted with famous cherry blossom spots and landmarks such as "Sakura-dori Street," "Shin-Kuzuryu Bridge," "Maruoka Castle," "Kitsune River," "9.98 Stadium," and "Asuwa River."

Experience the unique scenery of Fukui!

③ 7-Hour Time Limit

The Fukui Sakura Marathon features a 7-hour time limit, making it ideal for first-time full marathon runners!

For example, by training at your own pace—such as running at a 10-minute-per-kilometer pace—you can aim to finish the race.

④ Sakura Aid

The Fukui Sakura Marathon will feature “Sakura Aid” stations, serving Fukui specialties like sauce katsu and grated radish soba to all runners.

Be sure to savor the flavors of Fukui while aiming to finish the race!

⑤ Local Hospitality

The Fukui Sakura Marathon will feature "cheering stages" and "cheering spots" along the course, where diverse performances and warm encouragement from local residents will give runners a powerful boost.

In addition, with the cooperation of approximately 3,000 volunteers, we will warmly welcome runners along the course and at aid stations!

⑥ First Collaboration with CHUMS

We’re thrilled to announce a collaboration with the outdoor and casual brand “CHUMS”!

Don’t miss out on the event-exclusive commemorative items, packed with CHUMS’ signature fun and playfulness!
