Tateishi Cape Lighthouse
Standing at the very tip of the Tsuruga Peninsula, the Tateishi Misaki Lighthouse signals safe passage for ships. Built in 1881, it was the first Western-style lighthouse constructed entirely by Japanese hands. Its retro appearance symbolizes the history of the international port of Tsuruga.

- From JR Tsuruga Station, take the Community Bus "Tsunemiya Line" and get off at "Tateishi". Hike approximately 300m along the trail. From the Hokuriku Expressway Tsuruga IC, drive approximately 45 minutes to the Tateishi settlement. Hike approximately 300m along the trail from the Tateishi settlement.
