With the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Tsuruga Station in March 2024, Tsuruga Station will become the starting point for trains bound for Kanazawa, Tokyo, the Kansai region, and the Chukyo region, as well as the terminus for these routes. Spanning the area in front of Tsuruga Station is Tsuruga Polt Square Otta. Equipped with hotels, restaurants, retail shops, childcare facilities, and educational/enrichment facilities, it aims to be a hub for interaction and vibrancy between citizens and visitors, befitting Tsuruga's gateway status. Its excellent access—with immediate access to buses, taxis, and rental cars into the city—makes staying at the hotel convenient as a base for sightseeing or business trips.
