Mikatagoko Nature Cruise
This eco-friendly cruise explores the scenic Five Lakes of Mikata (Mikatagoko), a representative scenic spot of Wakasa in Fukui Prefecture, aboard Japan's first battery-powered sightseeing boat propelled by renewable energy.
Electricity generated by the facility's solar panels is stored in the boat's batteries, allowing it to glide silently without emitting CO₂ or exhaust gases, minimizing its impact on nature.
Over approximately 50 minutes, leisurely cruise to experience the distinct hues and water qualities of each lake within the Mikata Five Lakes, the ever-changing mountain ranges with the seasons, and the lushly forested Uramigawa River.
Immerse yourself in the unique tranquility and openness of the lakes, experiencing the precious nature of the Ramsar Convention wetland and the vibrant life and culture thriving in the Mikatagoko lakes.
