Yamanaka Tunnel

This 1,170-meter-long straight, five-arch brick tunnel features brick-built portals. Constructed as one of Japan's largest railway tunnels, it is known for its completion after arduous construction alongside the Habara Tunnel on the former Hokuriku Line.

This Yamanaka Tunnel is one of the constituent cultural properties of the Japan Heritage site "Railways Crossing the Sea: The Miracle of Railways Connecting to the World" (designated June 19, 2020).
