DISCOVER FUKUI

Held annually from late June to early August, this long-running event draws crowds eager to catch a glimpse of the lotus flowers blooming throughout Hanahasu Park. The period is packed with lotus-themed events.

〇 Elephant Trunk Cup 〇
The Elephant Trunk Cup involves drinking beverages through a straw-like stem after piercing a hole in a large lotus leaf. It gets its name because the stem resembles an elephant's trunk. This unique experience is enjoyable for everyone, from adults to children! It's said that the lotus extract mixed in from the stem fibers helps prevent summer fatigue.

・Dates: June 28 (Sat), 29 (Sun), July 6 (Sun), 12 (Sat), 13 (Sun), 19 (Sat), 20 (Sun), 21 (Mon/Holiday), 27 (Sun)

〇 Lotus Dyeing Experience (Reservation Required)　〇
Use lotus leaves and stems to create your own dyed items.

・Date: July 27 (Sun)
・Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
・Location: Hanahasu Park Rest Area
・Participation Fee: 3,000 yen
・Capacity: 25 people (Reservations required by phone only; no walk-ins allowed)
・Reservation Period: Until Friday, July 11. Accepted weekdays (excluding weekends) from 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM

〇 Lotus Pod Ornament Craft Experience 〇
Combine a lotus pedestal (the receptacle of a lotus flower) with crepe paper to create a decorative piece.

・Schedule: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from June 28 (Sat) to August 11 (Mon/holiday)
・Time: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
・Location: Hanahasu Chaya
・Participation Fee: ¥500

〇 Stained Glass Making Experience 〇
Why not create lovely lotus-themed accessories like foot lamps or wind chimes with suncatchers?

・Dates: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from June 28 (Sat) to August 3 (Sun)
・Hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
・Location: Hanahasu Park Rest Area
・Participation Fee: ¥3,000 and up

〇 Haiku Submission Event 〇
Stroll through the park and submit any haiku that comes to mind into the submission box.

・Period: Saturday, June 28 - Monday, August 11 (holiday)
・Theme: "Hanasu" or "Historic Sites and Scenic Spots of Minami-Echizen Town"

〇　Early Morning Model Photo Session (Reservation Required)　〇
Why not try photographing a model with the park's lotus flowers as a backdrop?

・Date: Monday, July 21 (holiday)
・Time: Session 1 → 6:30 AM - 7:30 AM (Capacity: 50 people), Session 2 → 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM (Capacity: 50 people)
・Location: Lotus Flower Park Viewing Pond or Viewing Garden
・Participation Fee: ¥1,000

〇　Hana-Hasu Stamp Rally　〇
At each stamp point, the Minami Echizen Minako Team will present quizzes about lotus flowers.
A gift will be presented to those who complete the stamp rally.

〇 Sky Lantern® 〇
Sky Lanterns® will illuminate the night sky within the park on the final day of the Lotus Festival.

〇 Machikame 〇

During the Lotus Festival period, we have an unmanned photo service "Machikame" available.

You can take commemorative photos with lotus flowers as the backdrop anytime by linking your smartphone to the service.
