The concept is "Thank you, glasses!

Megane Fest" has been held for more than 10 years in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, the birthplace of eyeglasses, and is the one and only event where eyeglass enthusiasts from all over Japan gather. The theme for 2025, the 120th anniversary of the production of eyeglasses, is "Connecting X and Y". The event will be held on September 20 (Sat.) and 21 (Sun.) at the Megane Museum and surrounding special venues with the aim of connecting people to people, things to do, and various connections and circles with all people who love glasses, regardless of generation or position.

The event will include a "Megane Memorial Service" to collect used glasses and offer them to the deceased, "Meet! Mega Exhibition", sales of eyeglass goods and gourmet foods, workshops, stage events, and the popular renewed competition "Megazakuri" will be held this year!

Also in Sabae City, the SDGs Fest (Venue: Nishiyama Park) and the Sabae Monzen Festival (Venue: Shofu Shrine and Shofu Shrine approach) will be held simultaneously under the title of Sabae's 3 major festivals. Shuttle buses will be available to connect the Megane Festival and each event site. Please take this opportunity to visit Sabae and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city.
