Furuki-Yoki Hina Doll Exhibition

Celebrate Hinamatsuri in an old Japanese house

What is Hinamatsuri?

The Japanese Doll Festival, or Girls' Day, is held on March 3 every year. Platforms covered with a red carpet are used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period (794-1185).

In the month leading to Hinamatsuri, Hina dolls are displayed in homes and public places to wish for girls' healthy growth and well-being. At the Echizen Ancient Kiln Museum, approximately 500 dolls, including tiered displays and palace-style arrangements, will be exhibited in an old folk house.

For a limited time during the event, enjoy a "Hina Doll Sweets and Matcha Set (¥800)" while viewing the dolls.
