Convention Support Guide FUKUI
The Subsidies for Convention
※Please note that we may not be able to meet your request due to limited budget. Please understand this in advance.
Application Method and Deadline
- Please complete the application and budget forms and submit them with the required documents.
- All applications must be submitted by the end of September of the year before the convention. However, if there are any special circumstances, you can apply for the subsidies by the first day of three months before the convention. Please contact us.
Convention to be granted
| Academic Conference | A meeting for presentation and discussion held by an academic research organization for the members of the academic research organization, or its equivalent. |
| Conference and Meeting | Meetings and seminars for members of organizations to present and discuss their opinions on specific issues. |
| Business Convention | Private company conference/training, incentive travel, or its equivalent. |
| Sports events | The event must be a newly created sporting event or be held in the prefecture for the first time. |
The Subsidy for Convention Promotion Project

| ①Subsidy for Convention 【Up to 90,000 USD】 | ■The event must be held in Fukui Prefecture (＊1) ■The event must be held for two or more consecutive days and include overnight stays. (Excursions are included.) ■Participants must be from at least three different prefectures, which can include Fukui. ■The number of participants must be 50 or more, and the total number of overnight stays in Fukui by participants from outside Fukui Prefecture must be 50 or more. |

Additional Subsidy Items
※The following subsidies from ③ to ⑦ can only be used if the subsidies ① or ② are applicable.
| ③Subsidy for Attraction 【Up to 500 USD】 | Applicable to hospitality events at the opening ceremony or reception that will improve the image of Fukui Prefecture and its host city or town. | ||||||||||
| ④Subsidy for Shuttle Bus Service 【Up to 1,000 USD】（1/2 the cost of the shuttle bus） | Applicable to conventions with more than 300 participants and shuttle bus service between the venue and accommodation facilities. (required to use a bus, train, or cab company that has its headquarters or branch office in Fukui prefecture. | ||||||||||
| ⑤Subsidy for Excursion 【Up to 2,000 USD】 （1/2 of Excursion expense (excluding food and beverage) | Applicable to visiting the sightseeing facilities or inspecting companies in Fukui Prefecture. | ||||||||||
| ⑥Additional Subsidy for Conventions of 1,000 or more participants. 【Up to 10,000 USD】 | Applicable to conventions of 1,000 or more in-person participants (excluding individuals participating online). The amount of subsidy offered will vary depending on the number of participants (see details below).

| ⑥Special Subsidy for Reinan area (the south part of Fukui Prefecture) | Applicable to events using ① Subsidies for Convention and for which participants either spend the night in Reinan (*2) or use ⑤ Subsidy for Excursion to visit sightseeing facilities or companies located in Reinan. → Add 1/2 of ① subsidy for Conventions (Up to ￥2,500） → Add 1/2 of ⑤ subsidy for Excursion(Up to ￥1,000） |
※The following conventions are not eligible for the subsidy.
・Conventions held by the national or local government.
・Conventions that receive any other subsidies from the national or local government except this subsidy.
・Exhibition, trade fairs, professional sports events and entertainment such as concerts and plays.
・Political or religious activities and commercial events.
・Conventions to be held in conjunction with exchange between sister cities.
