Kamo Shrine

Kamo Shrine is located in Nata-sho, Ooi Town. It is said to have been established in 1348 (the 4th year of the Jōwa era), and records indicate it underwent renovations around the middle of the Edo period. Unique folk customs not seen elsewhere are also practiced here, such as the "Oro-Oro Festival," "Tongue-Shaped Rice Cake Making," and "Grass Running." These are deeply connected to the fact that Noda-shū was once the territory of the Tsuchimikado family, the head family of Onmyōdō. The main hall of Kamo Shrine is designated as a tangible cultural property of the town.
