Field Station (Outdoor Dinosaur Museum)
The Outdoor Dinosaur Museum (Field Station) opened in July 2014 in Kitadani, Katsuyama City, Japan's largest dinosaur fossil excavation site. The museum is divided into three zones: the Observation Plaza, the Exhibition Hall, and the Fossil Digging Experience Plaza.
At the Observation Plaza, visitors can see the dinosaur fossil excavation site up close and hear explanations about the geological strata from a guide. In the Exhibition Hall, guides provide explanations about the fossils discovered at the excavation site and the history of the research. At the Fossil Digging Experience Plaza, visitors can try their hand at chipping away at stones brought directly from the excavation site and receive detailed explanations from researchers about any fossils they find.
The Outdoor Dinosaur Museum (Field Station) is accessed via a tour using the museum's dedicated bus. We highly recommend participating!

・Clothing that can get dirty and allows for easy movement (long sleeves and long pants are recommended) ・A jacket (for cold weather in spring or autumn) ■Shoes ・Sneakers (for ease of movement and injury prevention)
