Semi-maru's Grave
The grave said to be that of Semimaru, famous in the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu
The story of Semimaru, famous for the verse "This place, this very place / Where parting and reunion part ways / Where knowing and not knowing meet at Ōsaka Pass," has been passed down. After wandering through the provinces, Semimaru arrived in Echizen and reached Tō no Tani. While staying at a farmhouse, he fell ill and passed away in this place. This tomb was built in the area according to Semimaru's last wishes.
Though Semimaru's birth and death years are unknown, The Tale of the Heike records him as "Semimaru, the fourth prince of the Engi era (i.e., Emperor Daigo)."
