【Future Audio Guide】Explore Fukui Prefecture's Nengoshi Museum Through Your Ears
The Annual Ring Museum is located within Wakasa Town's "Jomon Romance Park."
Here, it broadly introduces the findings from annual varve research, annual varves from around the world, and displays specimens of the 70,000-year-old sedimentary layers ("annual varves") discovered in Lake Suigetsu, one of the adjacent Mikata Goko lakes.
Starting in 2024, the Annual Ring Museum introduced a next-generation audio guide utilizing Mixed Reality (MR) technology.
Using a dedicated app while walking through the exhibition halls allows visitors to enjoy immersive learning about detailed explanations of the annual layers, the various historical contexts etched within them, and the history they narrate.
Anyone with a smartphone compatible with the dedicated app can enjoy this experience. Using headphones allows you to feel the world of annual growth rings even more deeply. Why not experience the magnificent history of Earth that annual growth rings reveal?
