DISCOVER FUKUI

RENEW" is an industrial tourism tour event held in Sabae City, Echizen City, and Echizen Town, Fukui Prefecture, with the aim of promoting sustainable regional development. During the event, workshops and companies in seven production areas (Echizen lacquerware, Echizen Japanese paper, Echizen hammered blades, Echizen chests, Echizen pottery, glasses, and textiles) open their doors to the public at the same time. Through tours and workshops, the public can learn about the thoughts and background of the makers and experience their techniques while purchasing their products.

123 companies will participate in RENEW/2025, the 11th such event.

For the first time in RENEW/2025, an information center, which used to be only one in the lacquerware area, will be set up in the Imadate Washi area in Echizen City, and "OFFICIAL TOUR" and "FOOD & CRAFT RESTRANT" will be held as new contents. In addition, to take advantage of the Hokuriku Shinkansen extension, the "RENEW Taxi," which allows visitors to get around the production area at a reasonable price, and the "RENEW Shuttle Bus," which allows visitors to tour around the production area, will make it easier for visitors to get around the area.

Concurrently with RENEW, "KOGEICOMMONS empowered by MUFG" will be held for the first time, bringing together open factory events from 11 organizations from all over Japan. The intermingling of skills and wisdom from different regions will create a place where makers can engage in dialogue with each other and with visitors to nurture the future of Japanese craftsmanship together.

In addition, a market "Machi/Hito/Shigoto -Localism Expo Fukui-" will be held where players from all over Japan who are engaged in activities of high social significance will gather, and talk events with guests from various genres will be held. Through exhibitions, sales, talk events, and workshops, we will create an opportunity to raise the heat of the local community.
