Kumagawa Checkpoint
The guard post at the entrance to the post town has been restored to its original location. It is a rare historical structure in Japan, preserved in its original position within a designated Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Inside the building, displays include mannequins of officials and tools such as bows and arrows, and spears.

- From JR Kaminaka Station, take the JR bus bound for Omi-Imazu and get off at "Kumagawa" stop. It's about a 3-minute walk from there. From Wakasa-Kaminaka IC on the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway, it's about a 15-minute drive.
