Yaokumagawa

An old-style Japanese inn in Kumagawa-juku, a post town along the Saba Highway connecting Kyoto and Wakasa

Yaokumagawa is an inn that makes use of the old folk houses of Kumagawa-juku.

Kumagawa-juku was once a bustling post town connecting Kyoto and Wakasa. However, as its role as a post town faded, so did its former liveliness, and vacant houses became a noticeable sight.

Yao Kumagawa is operated with the heartfelt desire to offer guests a gentle space unique to an old folk house, where both mind and body can rest. Alongside this, we hope to be a place that creates a small connection, where your stay contributes to the preservation of Kumagawa-juku's old folk houses and living culture.

The name Yaokumagawa embodies our wish for you to feel the blessings of the region created by the eight million gods, and our hope that you will enjoy everything around Kumagawa-juku.

We aim to build relationships that enrich both our guests and the local community.
