Shibamasa World Amusement Park

A Giant Water Park along the Coastline

Shibamasa World, on the northern coast of Fukui, is one of western Japan’s largest water parks with over 560,000 square meters overlooking the Sea of Japan. Visitors can enjoy roughly 50 water slides, including giant raft slides, and various swimming pools, including a flowing “lazy river” pool, a wave pool, and an indoor pool. During nighttime hours, you can also enjoy the illuminated fantasy pool.

There are amusement park attractions, too, including go-karts, laser clay pigeon shooting, bumper cars, and a roller coaster. Shibamasa World’s Kids Paradise features a kid-friendly climbing wall, mazes to explore, and a collection of creative toys from around the world. At the interactive dinosaur area Dinosaur Forest, created in 2024, you can enjoy collecting dino energy, touching fossils, and exploring giant models.

A campground is available near the coast, with tent campsites, and private bungalows for rental. Discounts on park admission are available with overnight stays.
