Shiroyama Park, Meikyodo Cave (Shiroyama Swimming Beach)
Shiroyama Park, the site of Takahama Castle built by Masanori Itsumi in the Warring States Period, has the famous Meikyodo Cave (a scenic spot in Takahama Town) and a large lawn area, and there is a walking trail in the park. Walking along the promenade, visitors will find an observatory from which they can enjoy views of various oddly shaped rocks and Wakasa Bay. The beautiful sunset over Mt. Aoba has been selected as one of the 100 most beautiful sunsets. Fishing can also be enjoyed.
Shiroyama Beach is popular among families with small children because of its low waves and rocky beach for playing on the shore.
