The entire Echizen Coast is designated as Echizen-Kaga Coast Quasi-National Park. Located 1.7 km north of Cape Echizen, the "Kochimon" natural tunnel was formed by the rough waves of the Sea of Japan. It is a natural tunnel hollowed out by the erosive forces of wind and waves.

- From JR Fukui Station, take the Keifuku Bus bound for Echizen Kaigan Sogo for 1 hour 10 minutes; get off at Kokuchomon stop and it's right there. From the Hokuriku Expressway, it's 50 minutes by car from Tsuruga IC and 45 minutes by car from Sabae IC.
