Kazura Bridge

A Fun and Challenging Walk through the Forests of Ikeda

The Forest and River Promenade is a four-kilometer trail through the lush natural environment of Ikeda. Surround yourself with cherry blossoms in spring, greenery in summer, and red leaves in autumn. The trail passes by Tree Picnic Adventure Ikeda and follows the Asuwa River. Along the trail, visitors cross the river using a vine bridge—the only one of its kind on Japan’s main island of Honshu.

The bridge spans the Asuwa River valley, which is lush with trees, and is a rare cascading suspension bridge with a total length of 44 m, width of 1.8 m, and height of 12 m. The bridge has a unique swaying motion that is very thrilling. It is said that if you pledge your love on this bridge, you will be happy forever.

For a more relaxed pace, visitors can take a break on a wooden deck by the trail, or even use it as a place for a picnic.
