Echizen Daffodils

One of Japan's three major habitats

"Echizen Daffodils" is the collective term for the Japanese daffodils that bloom along the Echizen coast. Along with the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture and Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, it is counted among Japan’s three major daffodil-growing regions, boasting the largest area in the country.

As winter approaches, the daffodils huddle together as if to protect themselves from the cold, enveloping the coastal landscape in a fresh, white blanket.

Each flower stalk bears 4 to 8 petals, and the fragrance is sweet and delicate, reminiscent of the aroma of mandarin oranges.
