Katsuyama New Hotel

A 10-minute walk from our hotel lies the magnificent Echizen Great Buddha, said to be Japan's largest Buddha statue, along with a five-story pagoda. Nearby stands the nationally designated historic site "Heisenji Hakusan Shrine," founded 1,300 years ago by the great monk Taichō and now highly regarded as a "Medieval Religious City" ruin. It is also close to the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, a place that sparks the imagination of people of all ages, from adults to children. Furthermore, the nearby mountains are home to Skijam Katsuyama, one of the largest ski resorts in Western Japan. During the winter season, the area transforms, filled with the unique bustle characteristic of snow country.
