Daikokumaru Castle Ruins (Miyake Kurokumar Castle Ruins)
The castle ruins that served as the Asakura clan's base for seven generations and 130 years until their relocation to Ichijōdani
This castle site served as the Asakura clan's base in Echizen for seven generations and 130 years, until they established their castle at Ichijōdani.
It is believed to have been built by Asakura Hirokage, who entered Echizen from Tajima Province's Asago District during the Nanbokucho period while serving Ashikaga (Shiba) Takatsune.
Kuro-maru Castle stood on the banks of the Kuzuryu River, serving as a vital hub for transporting goods from the Sakai Plain to the Fukui region and as a strategically important military stronghold.
