Rainbow Line Summit Park
This 11.24-kilometer road stretches from Mihama to Wakasa Town. At the summit park, accessible via lift or cable car from the first parking lot, you’ll find a 360-degree panoramic view of the scenic Five Lakes of Mikata and Wakasa Bay! The views from the five terraces—including the foot bath and sofa terrace—are truly breathtaking! Enjoy them with your choice of special lunch boxes or sweets.
The park has five terraces to view the lakes from, including covered areas that offer shade or shelter from the weather. Near the central terrace is a rose garden, which comes into bloom from mid-May to mid-June, and from mid-October to mid-November. Wago Shrine here is dedicated to happy marriages, and popular with couples. In addition to enjoying the park’s hammock area, open-air foot bath, and café, visitors can buy “wish plates”: small pottery dishes to throw down the mountain, as a way to make wishes.
