Grave of Asakura Yoshikage

Located within Yoshikage Park, the area is also famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot. The Asakura clan flourished for five generations over 103 years, from the Muromachi period through the age of war. Yoshikage, the shugo daimyo of Echizen, was defeated in battle against Oda Nobunaga and faced betrayal by his relative Asakura Kagemitsu, ultimately committing suicide at Rokubo Kenshoji Temple.
