Saikoji Temple (Shibata Katsuie and Oichi's Tomb)

The temple where Shibata Katsuie, one of Oda Nobunaga's Four Heavenly Kings, and Lady Oichi rest in peace

Saikoji Temple is the family temple of Shibata Katsuie and Oichi. After the fall of the Asakura clan, it is said that Katsuie relocated the temple from to its current location when he built his castle in Kitanosho. Within the temple grounds lies the Shibata Katsuie Memorial Museum, which houses and displays the graves of Katsuie and Oichi, Katsuie's personal Buddhist statue and sword, and numerous other relics.

Though Katsuie is called the foremost of the "Four Heavenly Kings of Oda," the tomb of Niwa Nagahide, also named among the Four Heavenly Kings, lies about 800 meters from Saikoji Temple. The tombs of these two great generals among the Four Heavenly Kings can be visited on foot.

Additionally, the grave traditionally attributed to Takigawa Kazumasu is at Reisenji Temple in Echizen City. Within Fukui Prefecture, graves of three of the Four Heavenly Kings exist.

*Generally considered to be Shibata Katsuie, Niwa Nagahide, Takigawa Kazumasu, and Akechi Mitsuhide.
