Mikuni Sunset Beach
Seaside Recreation, Dramatic Sunsets, and a Huge Annual Fireworks Show
Mikuni Sunset Beach, on the northeastern coast of Fukui, is a popular summer destination for families throughout the area for its shallow waters. It is also known for its natural beauty, particularly in the evenings as the sun sets into the sea. On August 11 each year, the beach serves as a venue for one of the Hokuriku region’s largest fireworks shows.
The beach is a favorite spot for outdoor activities and water sports all year round, including fishing, yoga, surfing, windsurfing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Easy access is available by train: the beach is just a few minutes on foot from Mikuni-Minato Station.
