Ryusho Museum, Sakai City

This is a restored Ryosho Elementary School, said to have been built in 1879 based on designs by Dutch engineer Essel, now serving as a local history museum. The 1/5 scale model of a Senkoku-style Bezai ship and the 11-meter-tall Mikuni Festival float are truly spectacular. The museum also features a recreation of the study of Jun Takami, a writer born in Mikuni, along with relics and photographs of other literary figures connected to Mikuni, evoking nostalgic memories of days gone by.
