Wakasa Obama Fish Center
Shop for Fresh Seafood, and Even Grill It Yourself over Charcoal
The Wakasa Obama Fish Center is a compact seafood market. It is a popular destination for home cooks and restaurant owners in the community, particularly early in the morning. The sellers here sell fresh, locally caught seafood, as well as local prepared specialties, such as grilled mackerel, and dried fish marinated in soy sauce.
There are restaurants here that serve sushi and sashimi. In addition, visitors can buy fresh seafood from one of the sellers, and then cook it themselves. At the covered outdoor grilling area, visitors can rent a traditional Japanese shichirin grill and charcoal for a few hundred yen.
