Meoto Iwa, Bozu Iwa, and the Bizarre Rocks of the Japanese Archipelago
Along the coastline of Kawano in Minami-Echizen Town, where the landscape transitions from Tsuruga Bay to the Echizen Coast, numerous uniquely shaped rocks carved by rough waves can be seen. Among them, the famous Couple Rocks stand side by side like a loving pair at the terminus of the Shio-Kaze Line, alongside the massive Bonzu Rock and the peculiar Japan Archipelago Rock, resembling the shape of the Japanese islands. One cannot help but feel a sense of ancient romance in the sculptural beauty crafted by nature over long ages. Highly recommended as a scenic drive route on a clear day.
