One of the 100 Natural Sites to Preserve for the 21st Century. Its name is said to come from the mountain's silhouette resembling a "bushido hat" (eboshi). The hike from Kanmuri Pass, where the parking lot is located, to the summit of Mount Kanmuri takes about 2 hours. It's a hiking course suitable for middle-aged and elderly people as well as children, and it's especially popular during the autumn foliage season. Typically, the mountain's autumn colors peak around late October, while the foliage along the forest road along the way is best viewed around early November.
