Yukemuri Yokocho (“Steam Alley”) consists of ten small restaurants, all located across the street from Awara-Yunomachi Station. Each one serves a different specialty, such as ramen and teppan-yaki. These restaurants are a popular destination at the end of a day in Awara Onsen, to get dinner and drinks, or a late evening snack after having dinner at a hot spring inn.
All of the restaurants are open for dinner hours, and some of them get started earlier or stay open even later. Red lanterns hang in the corridor outside, creating a friendly, old-fashioned Japanese-style atmosphere for visitors. Each one of these restaurants has just a handful of seats, for an intimate atmosphere—perfect for chatting with the chefs and other customers.
