National Wakasa Bay Youth Nature Center
Located on the Taka Peninsula, jutting out from the center of Wakasa Bay Quasi-National Park, this youth education facility focuses on nature-based activities. It offers both marine and mountain experiences within a rich natural environment. The front of the facility overlooks the magnificent Wakasa Bay, showcasing the unique scenery of its rias coastline. The rear is blessed with undulating mountains and fields, allowing visitors to experience the changing seasons up close. Activity programs include: Cutter sailing Snorkeling Sea kayaking Swimming Assembled rafting Boating Rock fishing Hiking Orienteering Outdoor cooking Campfires Tent camping Log cabin stays Various craft activities

- There are no set rules. For overnight stays, check-in is generally by 4:00 PM, and check-out inspections begin after 8:40 AM.
- Closed
- During the year-end and New Year period (December 28 to January 4), the facility will be unavailable on certain days for facility maintenance and safety inspections.

Lacquered Daruma: ¥950 per participant per session.
Meal Costs: Children aged 4 and above but not yet in elementary school: Breakfast 380 yen, Lunch 440 yen, Dinner 550 yen. Elementary school students: Breakfast 450 yen, Lunch 520 yen, Dinner 660 yen. Junior high school students and above: Breakfast 460 yen, Lunch 530 yen, Dinner 680 yen. Additional materials and supplies may be required. - Getting There
- Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Fukui City, about 40 minutes from the Obama IC on the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway, about 2 hours from downtown Nagoya, about 2 hours from downtown Kyoto, and about 2 hours and 20 minutes from downtown Osaka. There is no public transportation from Mikata Station or Kaminaka Station on the JR Obama Line, so please take a taxi. (The one-way fare is approximately ¥5,000 to ¥7,000.)
