Mount Fujikura and Mount Nabekura

The stone walls of the mountain castle that remain to this day.

Mount Fujikura is a relatively low mountain standing at 643.5 meters above sea level, located west of Imajo. There are three hiking trails to Mount Fujikura, each starting from Silla Shrine, Shirahige Shrine, or the Hachijuhachi-kakusho mountain side. The most popular route ascends from the Silla Shrine approach path to the Suigajo ruins, then climbs the steep ridge trail from there. From the summit of Mount Fujikura, reached after passing through beech forests, you can see the Sea of Japan. It is an easily accessible hiking course. Along the route lies the ruins of Hiragajo Castle, built by Kiso Yoshizane in 1183 (Juei 2). The Genpei Seiki chronicle praised it as "the foremost castle along the Hokurikudo route." Stone walls still stand at the fortress and main keep site, surrounded by dry moats and cut moats.
