Fukui City Atagozaka Tea Ceremony Art Museum
This exhibition clearly introduces the history of tea ceremony in Fukui City through four sections: an overview of tea ceremony history using a chronological table; the tea ceremony of the Warring States period revealed by research at the Asakura Clan Ruins in Ichijōdani; an introduction to the culture surrounding tea ceremony; and the tea ceremony practiced by the Matsudaira family, feudal lords of Fukui, as seen in the nationally designated scenic spot, Yōkōkan Garden.
At Atagozaka, the "Corridor of Lights" event is held in spring and autumn. It creates a fantastical landscape enveloped in the gentle glow of lanterns.
