Bukozan
Elevation: 1,464m. A gentle mountain with a feminine appearance, accessible by car up to a point 4.6 kilometers from the summit. The hike from the parking lot to the summit takes about 90 minutes. The view from the summit is excellent, and on clear days, you can see as far as the Sea of Japan. In autumn, the virgin beech forest turns vibrant with autumn colors (typically around the second to third week of October).
*Note: As of 2023, vehicles can no longer reach the vicinity of the summit. Access from 4.6 km before the summit is only possible on foot.
*The forest road entrance is closed to traffic from late November to around the end of May each year (dates may vary slightly due to weather or construction). For details, please refer to the forest road information for Mt. Kanmuri and Mt. Buko.
