Kanazu Festival

You can see the powerful floats!

The Kanazu Festival is a traditional event held every July. Floats and children's dances parade through the town.
Another highlight of the Kanazu Festival is the Honjin Ornaments, which have a tradition of about 400 years. Another highlight of the festival is the "Honjin Ornaments," a 400-year-old tradition that began in the Edo period (1603-1867), when the lord of a daimyo's estate was entertained with ornaments made from daily necessities. 18 different districts create their own unique decorations for the Honjin Festival.
