Horiguchi Family Residence
An early Edo period residence with a hearth remaining in the earthen-floored entrance area
Built approximately 300 years ago during the early Edo period, this gabled-roofed folk house has been restored to its original state and is designated a National Important Cultural Property. It is said to have belonged to one of the twelve households serving Suwa Azuki Shrine, and its construction suggests it belonged to a wealthy farmer. Admission is free.
