Tsuruga City Museum
The building is the former main branch of the Yamada Bank, constructed in 1927 by local luminary Shōshichi Yamada. Designated a National Important Cultural Property, its opulent design symbolizes the prosperity of Tsuruga Port at the time. The building itself is packed with attractions, including the first elevator in the Hokuriku region, a marble counter, and a massive vault so tall you have to look up to see the top.
