Tsuruga Railway Museum (Former Tsuruga Port Station Building)
The former Tsuruga Port Station building, with its distinctive pointed roof. This structure was recreated for the 1999 "Tsuruga Sparkling Port Expo 21" event, representing the former Tsuruga Port Station that once held a vital position as the departure and arrival point for the "Eurasia International Connection Train." Tsuruga flourished as a gateway to the continent since ancient times. In the modern era, it developed as a city of ports and railways, notably being the first on the Sea of Japan coast to have a railway line. The museum introduces Tsuruga's railway history within its historical context, displaying railway artifacts and train models.
