The long-established soy sauce shop that supplies Eiheiji Temple
Founded in the early Meiji era, Nomura Shoyu continues to craft naturally brewed soy sauce from its own koji production. The existing brewery was renovated for tours and experiences, giving birth to the "Shoyu-zukuri no Taiken Kura Jūemon" (Soy Sauce Making Experience Brewery Jūemon). Here, you can experience making your very own freshly pressed soy sauce—an experience only available at the brewery itself. You can take home your finished product with a custom label, plus enjoy brewery tours and soy sauce tastings. With its fun and thorough guidance, it's also recommended for families with children.
