A Mystical Picnic at the Site of the Former Miyadani Quarry
[A Mountain Gate That Blasts Out Cold Air in the Dead of Summer]
―― Beyond that tunnel lies a “stone otherworld”
Walking along a gently sloping forest road, a small tunnel suddenly appears.
Standing at its entrance, a chill—about 10°C colder than the outside temperature—brushes against your cheeks.
Step inside, and you enter a surreal realm of stone, water, and light, cut off from reality. It is a place akin to a “sacred domain” once known only to the craftsmen who quarried Miyadani stone. Within this space surrounded by rock, cool, crisp air and an emerald-green water surface lie quietly.
