Mikuni Minato prospered as a port of call for Kitamae-bune (Kitamaebune) ships, and even today it retains the emotional atmosphere of the old days.
The Mikuni Minato Obi-no-Machi Nagashi," in which dancers dance through the town to the sounds of the shamisen and flute of Mikuni-bushi, a traditional Mikuni tatami banquet song, will be held in Mikuni Minato.
The name "Obi-no-Machi" comes from the Mikuni-bushi, which describes the long and narrow town of Mikuni Minato as "a town as wide as an obi.
