Hatsu-Uchi "First Hammering of the New Year" Ceremony, held annually at midnight on New Year's Day since the founding of Takefu Knife Village—a cooperative workshop for Fukui's traditional craft "Echizen Forged Blades"—will take place again this year.
Three craftsmen, dressed in solemn white robes and black hats, will forge a single blade using the ancient traditional forging method. Come witness the craftsmen's powerful and impressive work.
