Manyo Village Ajinomonoen Museum Manyo Hall

A museum showcasing Man'yōshū poems in an accessible way, with the concept of "Romance and Love Songs of the Manyō Era"

Echizen City's Ajimano is known as the setting for the tragic love songs of Nakatomino Yakamori, exiled here from the Heijō capital, and Sano no Otogami no Otome, who longed for him in the capital. Additionally, Echizen City serves as the backdrop for some of the poems exchanged between Ōtomo no Yakamochi and Ōtomo no Ikemochi, two of the most representative poets of the Manyoshu anthology. The Manyo Museum, located within the Mishima Garden, is a museum that presents Manyo poems in an accessible way, based on the concept of "Manyo Romance and Love Songs."
