Site of Motohori Jinya
Site of the garrison built by the Edo Shogunate in 1721 (Kyōhō 6)
The shogunate's administrative headquarters overseeing the shogunate-controlled territory of Echizen Province. It was located in Motobo Village, Niu District (present-day Motobo-cho, Echizen City) for approximately 150 years, from 1721 to 1870.
